EUPORTRAItS Project 4th partners meeting in thessaloniki

1Thessaloniki (Greece) hosted last week the fourth meeting of the EU-PORTRAItS project (European Port Workers Training Scheme). The meeting, which was held on 30th and 31st October 2014, was organized by CERTH/HIT - Centre for Research and Technology Hellas/Hellenic Institute of Transport. It was attended by all project partner representatives and the European Commission Project Officers, Mr. Christos Pipitsoulis and Ms. Ioana Statu.

EU-PORTRAItS will address future trends in the ports industry, hazards and major challenges in port workers training needs

BP1080067EU-PORTRAItS completes its first semester with a project meeting held on 5th and 6th of June in Valencia.

Following the project's work plan, the meeting, which was organized by FEPORTS, was devoted to the tasks that are being carried out to shape the current ports labor supply profile, assess the existing Vocational Educational Training (VET), and identify future trends in maritime transport.

The EUPORTRAItS project analyzes the training of port workers

Athens hosted yesterday the kick-off meeting of EU-PORTRAItS. The project is funded by the Seventh Framework Programme for R & D of the European Union (FP7) and will be running for the next 30 months.

Project’s scope is to examine the current “map of the EU ports human capital” in relation to the sector’s needs and requirements that, under the spectrum of technological changes can ensure safe and efficient operations in EU ports industry.

2nd Partners Meeting

logoThe 12th of March took place in Brussels the 2nd partners meeting. During the session, partners discuss about 2 and 3 work packages.

The core of the session 1 was a brief presentation of every country participating in the project reporting on the legal background for port employment, training policies for port workers and the respective port governing model in the countries.
